Problem: Error (Re-seat cartridge)
The printer is reporting that the cartridge needs to be re-seated
Resolution 1
- Try removing the cartridge and re-installing it
Resolution 2
- Switch the printer off and unplug it from the socket
- Open the front of the printer and remove the toner cartridge
- Wipe the chip on the toner cartridge is a dry cloth or tissue
- Wipe the contacts for the toner cartridge inside the printer (See below)
- Re-install the toner cartridge and turn the printer back on
Resolution 3
- Press menu and select, "configure"
- Scroll to "maintenance" & press select
- Scroll and select "non-dell toner"
- Highlight "On" and press select
Problem: Faded Output
Printouts are coming out faded.
Resolution
- If the print quality is poor, remove the toner cartridge from the printer and gently rock the cartridge from side to side.
- This movement helps distribute to the toner evenly within the cartridge.
- After rocking the cartridge 5-6 times, re-insert the cartridge into the printer and print a test page.

- Press down to System Setup
- Press > Report/List > Panel Settings.
