Problem: Printer Cannot Detect Cartridge

The printer does not recognize that a new cartridge has been installed.

Resolution

1. Open the printer cover and carefully remove the affected cartridge.
2. Reinstall the cartridge slowly and firmly to ensure proper contact.
3. Close the printer cover

Problem: Cartridge not recognised

The cartridge has been installed correctly but the printer is reporting that the cartridge is not recognised.

Resolution

1. Remove the cartridge that’s not recognised from the printer.
2. Switch off the printer and unplug it from the power source for 10 minutes.
3. Gently wipe the chip on the cartridge with a dry cloth or tissue.
4. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
5. Re-insert the cartridge.

Note: If the message reappears repeat steps 1-5 but remove all the cartridges in step one.

Problem: Printing blank pages

The ink cartridge printed one or two pages and then stopped printing.

Resolution

1. Check if the tape covering the breathing hole on the cartridge has been removed.

2. Most cartridges have a small “rip strip” — make sure it has been fully removed to allow proper airflow.

Problem: Fading on print

Printouts are very faint or there is missing print on the page.

Resolution:

If the print quality is poor or no ink is appearing on the paper then try doing 2-3 head cleans/nozzle cleans. Leave 20 minutes between each clean to avoid ink overflow.
