Problems you might encounter
Problem: Poor Print Quality
Printouts are faded / incorrect colours being produced
Resolution 1
If you have the Canon IJ Printer Utility installed on your computer, please attempt the troubleshooting below. If you don't have this utility please attempt "Resolution 2"
1. Select Cleaning from the pop-up menu on the Canon IJ Printer Utility
2. Click the Cleaning Icon and press OK to start the head cleaning process.
3. After cleaning cycle is complete, print off a 'Nozzle Check' and see if the print quality has improved.
4. If Print quality still hasn't improved:
6. Select Deep Cleaning from the pop-up menu on the Canon IJ Printer Utility
7. Click the Deep cleaning Icon and press OK to start the head cleaning process.
8. After cleaning cycle is complete, print off a 'Nozzle Check' and see if the print quality has improved.
Resolution 2
1. Make sure that the power is turned on.
2. Hold down the RESUME/CANCEL button until the POWER lamp flashes once, then release it immediately.
3. The printer will start cleaning the print head.
4. The cleaning will be complete when the POWER lamp becomes a solid light after flashing.
5. Do not perform any other operations until the printer completes the cleaning of the print head. This takes about 2 to 3 minutes.
6. Print the nozzle check pattern to check the print head condition.
