Compatible HP 207X
- This image shows the front of the cartridges. The chip must be clear of impurities before installation.
- The back of the cartridges can be seen in this image. The orange clip must be removed before installing the cartridge.
- This image shows the left side of the cartridges. Use the handle in the middle to insert the cartridge into the printer.
- The right side of the cartridges can be seen in this image.

"Cartridge is not compatible / Cartridge is not recognised"
- Remove the affected cartridge or cartridges from the printer.
- Turn the printer off and wait for 2 minutes.
- Turn the printer back on and wait for a further 2 minutes.
- Once the printer warns that certain cartridge or cartridges are missing, re-install them one at a time.
"Used Cartridge Installed"
- Please note this is just a warning message.
- When the message appears, press OK to continue.
- You should now be able to print as normal.
- This error should only appear once for each cartridge.
"Non HP-Chip detected"
- This could be due to a new HP firmware update on the printer.
- Please contact our customer care centre for more information.
My prints are faded
- If the print quality is poor, remove the toner cartridge from the printer and gently rock it side to side.
- This movement helps distribute the toner evenly within the cartridge.
- After rocking the cartridge 5–6 times, reinsert it and print a test page.
- If the issue persists, check the life of maintenance items in case they need replacing
I'm seeing streaks on my prints
- Remove the toner cartridge from the printer and gently rock the cartridge from side to side.
- This movement helps distribute the toner evenly within the cartridge.
- Carefully clean the drum roller to remove any excess toner.
- Re-insert the cartridge into the printer and print a test page.
- If the problem persists, repeat the previous steps.
There are faint characters on my prints
- Printouts have faint characters / letters appearing down the page.
- Print 15–20 pages and see if the problem persists.
