My prints are faded
- If the print quality is poor, remove the toner cartridge from the printer and gently rock it side to side.
- This movement helps distribute the toner evenly within the cartridge.
- After rocking the cartridge 5–6 times, reinsert it and print a test page.
- If the issue persists, check the life of maintenance items in case they need replacing

The Corona Wires may need cleaning, to do this follow the steps below.
- Turn off the machine.
- Take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly and place on a clean flat surface with a sheet of disposable paper underneath in case toner is accidentally spilt.
- Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the green tab from left to right and right to left several times.
- Return the tab to the home position so that the ^ images match up if not the pages printed may have a vertical stripe.
- Return the cartridge to the printer, repeat for all other remaining cartridges.
- Close the printer and turn this back on. This should now be ready to use.
Marks in the same place each time
- Gently wipe the drum roller with a dry lint-free cloth.
- Print 5–6 sheets to check for improvement.
-
If the issue persists, print a Drum Dot Print (see your user
manual in our Helpful Links section below).
- If dots appear at 94mm intervals → replace the drum.
- If dots appear at 30mm intervals → replace the toner cartridge.
- If the problem is not solved after printing a few pages, the drum unit may have glue residue from a label stuck on the drum surface. In this case, clean the drum unit using the steps below:
- Open the manual feed slot cover.
- Using both hands, slide/adjust the paper guides to the width of the paper you are going to use.
- Using both hands, insert one blank sheet of paper into the manual feed slot until the front edge touches the paper feed roller. Wait until the machine pulls the paper, then release it.
- Make sure the machine is in Ready mode, then press Menu > 4 > 8. The display should show "DRUM CLEANING PRESS START".
- Press Mono Start or Colour Start. The machine will pull in the paper and begin cleaning the drum unit.
- When Completed appears on the LCD, press Stop/Exit to return the machine to Ready mode.
- Repeat steps 3 to 6 two more times using a new blank sheet of paper each time.
- Do not use more than one piece of paper at a time, as this may cause a paper jam.
- Ensure the paper is straight and correctly positioned in the manual feed slot to avoid jams.
