With Brother consumables, you have to manually reset the counter
to let
the machine know an item has been replaced.
- Make sure the machine is turned on.
- Make sure the machine's cover is open
- Press the Clear button
- For models with FAX functions: press 1. For models without FAX functions: press the Up Arrow Key.
- Once the printer shows Accepted the cover can be closed and the printer should be ready to use
My prints are faded
- If the print quality is poor, remove the toner cartridge from the printer and gently rock it side to side.
- This movement helps distribute the toner evenly within the cartridge.
- After rocking the cartridge 5–6 times, reinsert it and print a test page.
- If the issue persists, check the life of maintenance items in case they need replacing
