Replace Toner / Toner Low / No Toner Installed

With Brother consumables, you have to manually reset the counter to let the machine know an item has been replaced.
Make sure the machine is turned on.
Make sure the cover is open.
Press the Clear/Back button.
The reset menu will appear.
Press the Down button to find the colour you wish to reset.
Press OK and then OK again to reset.
The cover can then be closed and the printer should be ready to use.

Replace Drum / Drum End / No Drum Installed

With Brother consumables, you must manually reset the counter to let the machine know an item has been replaced.
Make sure the machine is turned on.
Make sure the machine's cover is closed.
Press the Stop/Exit button to temporarily clear the error.
Press Menu.
Use the up and down arrows to find Machine Info, then press OK.
Select Reset Menu.
Select Drum, then press Yes to reset.
When the printer displays Accepted, the printer should be ready to use.

My prints are faded

If the print quality is poor, remove the toner cartridge from the printer and gently rock it side to side.
This movement helps distribute the toner evenly within the cartridge.
After rocking the cartridge 5–6 times, reinsert it and print a test page.
If the issue persists, check the life of maintenance items in case they need replacing.

My prints are blank

It could be that the tape covering the breathing hole has not been removed.
Make sure the breathing hole on the cartridge has been released by removing the small rip strip so the cartridge has an air supply.
Remove the toner cartridge from the printer and gently rock it side to side.
This movement helps distribute the toner evenly within the cartridge.
After rocking the cartridge 5–6 times, reinsert it and print a test page.
If the issue persists, check the life of maintenance items in case they need replacing.

My prints have marks on the page

Streaks/bands

The Corona Wires may need cleaning. Follow the steps below.
Turn off the machine.
Take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly and place it on a clean flat surface with disposable paper underneath.
Clean the primary corona wire by gently sliding the green tab left to right several times.
Return the tab to the home position so the ^ symbols align.
Reinstall the cartridge and repeat for any remaining cartridges.
Close the printer and turn it back on.
