Replace Toner / Toner Low / No Toner Installed

With Brother consumables, you have to manually reset the counter
to let
the machine know an item has been replaced.
- Make sure the machine is turned on.
- Press the Home button to light up the touch screen
- Press the Copy button. This will show a numeric keypad on the right hand side.
- Remember where the * (asterics) is located on the keypad
- Open the cover where you access the cartridges and keep this open.
- Hold down where the * (asterics) would be on the keypad (this won't be lit up) for 5 seconds
- The reset menu will then appear. Scroll through and select the toner that you have replaced
- Press Yes
- When the printer shows Accepted on the screen, the count is now reset. The cover can be closed and the printer should be ready to use
Replace Drum / Drum End / No Drum Installed

With Brother consumables, you have to manually reset the counter
to let
the machine know an item has been replaced.
- Make sure the machine is turned on.
- Make sure the machine's cover is closed.
- Press Cancel X to interrupt the error. Press Settings and All Settings
- Choose Machine Info
- Then choose Parts Life
- Touch the dial pad area to light up the LEDs. Press and hold # until the machines message changes
- Press the colour of the drum unit you replaced.
- Press Yes
- Press Home
Replace Waste Toner
- Clean the contacts on the Waste toner unit.
- Clean the contacts inside the printer where the Waste toner unit is to be installed.
- Re-install the Waste toner unit.
- If the problem persists, contact Brother directly as there may be a fault with the machine.
My prints are faded
- If the print quality is poor, remove the toner cartridge from the printer and gently rock it side to side.
- This movement helps distribute the toner evenly within the cartridge.
- After rocking the cartridge 5–6 times, reinsert it and print a test page.
- If the issue persists, check the life of maintenance items in case they need replacing.
If you have replaced your drum unit, you may need to calibrate the printer to ensure the best performance. Please follow the below instructions to complete the calibration:
My prints have marks on the page
If the printouts have marks on the page in a repeating pattern, remove the drum from the printer.
Using a lint-free cloth, gently clean the drum surface, taking care not to touch the surface with your fingers.
