Replace Toner / Toner Low / No Toner Installed

With Brother consumables, you have to manually reset the counter
to let
the machine know an item has been replaced.
- Make sure the machine is turned on.
- Make sure the machine's cover is closed.
- Press Menu
- Press the Up/ Down arrow to find Machine Info and then press OK
- Press the Up/ Down arrow to find Reset Drum and then hold down OK for 5 seconds
- Don't press the up arrow to reset the drum, instead press Start
- Press the Up arrow, and 00 will appear on the screen
- Once the printer reads Accepted , it should be ready to use

- Press Menu
- Press the Up or Down arrow and choose Machine Info
- Press OK for 3 seconds
- Press the Up arrow to reset the counter
- Press Stop/ Exit
Marks on the page
- If the printouts have marks on the page in a repeating pattern, remove the drum from the printer.
- Using a lint-free cloth, gently clean the drum surface, taking care not to touch the surface with your fingers.
Faint characters on printouts
- Print 15–20 pages and check whether the problem persists.
Vertical lines
- Vertical lines appear on printed pages.
- Empty and clean the paper tray regularly to avoid paper scraps and impurities.
Faded output
- Check the drum life cycle and replace it if more than 10,000 pages have been printed.
- If the print quality is poor, remove the toner cartridge from the printer and gently rock it from side to side to distribute toner evenly.
- After rocking the cartridge 5–6 times, reinsert it and print a test page.
Smudges on printed paper
- Smudges or unwanted spots appear on printed pages.
- Slide the cleaning slider of the drum unit several times to clean the wire.
