Problem: Non original cartridge
On installation an error message appears saying that the cartridge is non original (this message may vary depending on the printer model). Please note that this is an informative message.

Problem: Cartridge is not compatible
The compatible cartridge has been installed correctly and the error message (Cartridge is not compatible) has appeared. If you're encountering the error message "Cartridge is not compatible", this may be due to a mixture of genuine and compatible cartridges being installed in the printer. To resolve this, a full replacement with compatible cartridges may be required.
Resolution
- Remove all the cartridges from the printer
- Turn the printer off and wait for 2 minutes to reset
- Turn on the printer back on and open the front cover
- Install all the compatible cartridges, this must be done in one go to prevent compatibility errors
- Once installed, you can use the printer as normal

Problem: Printing blank pages / Fading on print / Incorrect colours being produced
Printouts are coming out very faded or blank, or with the incorrect colours. In the unlikely event that your cartridge is not printing to your satisfaction, there may be a blockage on the print nozzles caused either by dried ink particles or an air lock. This problem can easily be remedied by carrying out a simple manual cleaning procedure
Resolution
-
Clean the print head area taking a cotton bud and dampen it slightly with warm water and gently wiping around the print head area at the base of the cartridge.
-
Check for Ink Flow dabbing cartridge’s print head onto a clean piece of absorbent kitchen towel. Continue gently dabbing until ink begins to appear on the paper. You should see the following ink marks:
-
Black Cartridge: A full black oval shape.
-
Colour Cartridge: Three distinct oval or round shapes in cyan, magenta, and yellow.
-
-
Clean the Contact Points using a dry kitchen towel to gently wipe the copper contact points on the back of the cartridge. Also, clean the contact points inside the printer’s cartridge carrier to ensure a proper electrical connection.
Note: once all steps are completed, reinstall the cartridge and try printing again. This process often resolves poor print quality or ink recognition issues.
Problem: HP ink has been depleted
During use an error message appears stating that the HP ink has been deleted
Resolution
Press OK on the message and continue printing
- By pressing "OK" your ink status monitor will be disabled.
- This means you’ll have to monitor how much ink is left in the cartridge based on print quality.
