Compatible Samsung CLT-406 (CLT-K406S-REM, CLT-C406S-REM, CLT-M406S-REM, CLT-Y406S-REM)

Problem: Faded Output or Streaky output

Printouts appear faint or have streaks running through them. This is often caused by toner powder not being evenly distributed inside the cartridge. This could be due to an uneven toner distribution within the cartridge, typically after long periods of non-use or storage in one position.

Resolution

1. Power off the printer.
2. Open the printer and carefully remove the toner cartridge.
3. Gently rock the toner cartridge from side to side 5–6 times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside.
4. Re-insert the cartridge securely into the printer.
5. Power the printer back on and print a test page to verify print quality.

Note: Avoid shaking the cartridge aggressively, as this may damage internal components or cause toner spillage.

Problem: Text blurred in centre of page or colour down side of page

Text appears blurred with visible lines in the center of the page, gradually fading towards the bottom. This typically occurs just after a new toner cartridge has been installed, possibly due to excess toner buildup.

Resolution

1. Print 5–10 pages after installing a new toner cartridge.

2. This helps clear any excess toner and improves image quality automatically.

Note: If the issue persists after 10 pages, inspect the toner or drum unit for physical damage or consider replacing the cartridge.

Problem: Error (Cartridge is not compatible)

The cartridge has been correctly installed but the printer displays a "Cartridge is not compatible" error.

Resolution

1. Remove the affected cartridge from the printer
2. Wipe the gold contacts on the back of the cartridge with a dry, lint free cloth.
3. Re-install the cartridge into the printer

Problem: Red printer light flashing

During usage the red warning light on the printer begins to flash. This indicates that the cartridge i at the end of its life but if it not empty, the printer might be misreading the toner level.

Resolution

1. Open the printer's cartridge access panel and carefully remove the cartridge.
2. Wipe the gold contacts on the back of the cartridge with a dry, lint free cloth.
3. Gently rock the toner cartridge from side to side 5–6 times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside.
4. Reinsert the cartridge firmly into the printer, close the access panel, and use the cartridge as normal.
