How to replace drum unit
- With the printer on , open the cover access the toner and drum unit.
- Slide out the toner and drum unit and handle the cartridge carefully - if some toner does spill onto your clothes / hands, carefully wash or wipe it off with cold water.
- Push down the lock lever on the drum unit to release the toner cartridge.
- Remove the toner cartridge and place it on a clean, flat surface, preferably with a sheet of disposable paper under the cartridge.
- Insert the toner cartridge into the new drum unit until you hear it click in to place. When fully in position the green lock lever on the drum unit will automatically lift.
- Slide the combined cartridge and drum unit into the printer.
- Close the cover, and reset the drum counter.
Resetting the drum counter
After replacing the drum unit, the drum counter will need to be reset.
Please find your printer model below to see that correct steps to reset the counter:
HL-2310D
- Make sure the machine is turned on.
- Make sure that the front cover is open.
- Press and hold Go for about four seconds until all of the LEDs light up. When all four LEDs are lit, release Go.
- Close the front cover.
- Make sure the Drum LED is now off
HL-2350DW, HL-2370DW & HL-L2375DW
- Make sure the machine is turned on.
- Close the front cover.
- Press OK and the Up arrow key at the same time.
- Press OK to select Drum.
- Press the Down arrow key to reset the drum counter.
DCP-L2510D, DCP-L2530DW, MFC-L2710DN
- Make sure the machine is turned on.
- Close the front cover.
- Press OK and the Up arrow key at the same time.
- Press OK to select Drum.
- Press the Up arrow key to reset the drum counter.
MFC-L2730DW & MFC-L2750DW
- Make sure the machine is turned on.
- Close the front cover.
- Press
(Cancel).
- Press and hold
(Toner) for five seconds.
- Press Drum, and then press Yes.
Problem: Marks on Page
Printouts has marks on page.
Resolution
- If the printouts have marks on the page in a repeating pattern, remove the drum from the printer.
- Using a lint free cloth gently clean the drum surface taking care not to touch the surface with fingers.
Problem: Faint Characters on Printouts
Printouts have faint characters / letters appearing down the page
Resolution
- Print 15-20 pages and see if the problem persists.
