Problem: Error (Replace Toner) or Error (Toner Low)
The cartridge is reporting that it's low on ink or reporting the error message (Replace toner).
The following troubleshooting can vary from printer to printer. Please check the correct steps for your printer model below:
Resolution for HL-L2310D
- 1. Open the front cover (You don't have to hold it open, you can rest it down so long as it doesn't shut full)
- 2. Turn the printer off.
- 3. Press and hold down the Go button with your finger.
- 4. Turn your printer back on (whilst still pressing the the Go button down).
- 5. After 3 seconds, release the Go button.
- 6. Press the Go button 9 times.
- 6. The cartridge should now be accepted
Resolution for HL-L2350DW, HL-L2370DN, HL-L2370DW, HL-L2370DW XL and HL-L2375DW
- 1. Open the front cover (You don't have to hold it open, you can rest it down so long as it doesn't shut full)
- 2. Press and hold the Back and Go buttons together for 1-2 seconds, then release. You may have to do this a couple of times for the menu to show.
- 3. Press the Back button again and the printer should display TNR-STR.
- 4. Use the up and down buttons to select TNR-HC in the menu, then press OK.
- 5. The printer display should now show Reset / Exit.
- 6. Press the down button to select Reset.
- 7. When the screen displays Accepted, close the front cover.
Note: The front cover needs to remain open during all of these steps
Resolution for DCP-L2510D, DCP-L2530DW, DCP-L2550DN, MFC-L2710DN and MFC-L2710DW
- 1. Open the front cover (You don't have to hold it open, you can rest it down so long as it doesn't shut full)
- 2. Press and hold the Clear and Stop/Exit buttons together for 1-2 seconds, then release. You may have to do this a couple of times for the menu to show.
- 3. Press the Clear button again and the printer should display Reset Menu K.TNR-STR.
- 4. Use the up and down buttons to select K.TNR-HC in the menu, then press OK.
- 5. The printer display should now show Reset / Exit.
- 6. Press the up button to select Reset.
- 7. When the screen displays Accepted, close the front cover.
Note: The front cover needs to remain open during all of these steps
Resolution for MFC-L2730DW and MFC-L2750DW
- 1. Open the front cover (You don't have to hold it open, you can rest it down so long as it doesn't shut full)
- 2. Press and hold the Back and Cancel (X) buttons together for 1-2 seconds, then release. You may have to do this a couple of times for the menu to show.
- 3. Press the Back button again and the Reset Menu should appear.
- 4. Use the up and down buttons to select TNR-HC in the menu, then press TNR-HC on the display.
- 5. Press Yes on the screen.
- 6. When the screen displays Accepted, close the front cover.
Note: The front cover needs to remain open during all of these steps
Problem: Faded Output
Printouts are coming out faded.
Resolution
- If the print quality is poor, remove the toner cartridge from the printer and gently rock the cartridge from side to side.
- This movement helps distribute to the toner evenly within the cartridge.
- After rocking the cartridge 5-6 times, re-insert the cartridge into the printer and print a test page.
